***THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELED***
Due to the outbreak of the avian flu, we are canceling this event. This is necessary to protect the health of the birds.
Here’s a message from Chicken Run Rescue: “Please take a moment today to quietly honor the millions of birds who are dying in this epidemic and the billions of birds who suffer and die everyday for no good reason. Then make a vegan dish to share with someone.”
See http://www.foxnews.com/health/2015/04/21/bird-flu-confirmed-at-iowa-farm-with-53-million-chickens/ for more info. Check out Chicken Run Rescue’s Facebook page to keep in touch. Chicken Run Rescue provides temporary shelter and veterinary care for neglected, abused, and abandoned chickens and works to find adopters in the Twin Cities area. Join us as we tour the sanctuary, talk to the folks who keep it going, and get to know (and maybe hold!) some rescued chickens. It’s a great chance for adults and kids alike to experience these amazing animals.
Chicken Run Rescue is located in North Minneapolis; please RSVP to receive the street address. A carpool will leave from the CAA community space at 2100 1st Avenue South in Minneapolis at 11:30am and return by 2:30pm.
You can RSVP on the Facebook event page or via email to Unny Nambudiripad at [email protected].
This event is part of the Veg Week series of events. Take the Veg Pledge!
