10:00am - 1:00pm
Location
Simpson Housing Services Shelter
Come serve a low carbon footprint plant-based lunch at Simpson! RSVP here. The Simpson Housing Services Shelter partners with community groups to prepare meals for shelter residents. This is a wonderful way to care for our Minnesota community in an eco-friendly, animal-friendly way.
The lunch will be at 128 W 33rd St. Minneapolis, MN 55408. We will gather at 10:00am to meet and greet one another. Together, we’ll prepare a filling low carbon plant-based, vegan meal in the kitchen, and serve food to residents. Once food service comes to a lull, we will take breaks in small shifts to eat the lunch we’ve prepared with residents. Afterwards, we’ll tidy up, and everything should be finished by one p.m.
This lunch is a collaboration between Compassionate Action for Animals and the Climate and Environmental Justice Group of Plymouth Congregational Church. Thank you to the church Climate and Environmental Justice Group for sponsoring this lunch! All are welcome to volunteer at this event, regardless of cooking experience or current diet.
Other Notes:
- Please dress comfortably, with closed-toe shoes.
- We expect to serve about 25 residents.
- Please RSVP to volunteer.
- This lunch is a community service event. While we may talk more about our work if residents ask us, it is not an outreach event. We hope to see you in the spring and summer for many more outreach events!
- Special thanks to volunteer Nicola for her work in organizing this event.
- If you have any questions, please email Abbey at [email protected].
