Happy Veganuary!
This New Year, many of us want to live more compassionately, healthily, and sustainably. Join us for a potluck where we’ll share delicious plant-based dishes and tips to make compassionate eating simple and enjoyable!
***Space is limited; please RSVP here to reserve your seat.***
Please bring a dish that’s vegan/plant-based and takes 30 minutes or less to prepare. Possibilities include salads, wraps, soups, pastas, no-bake desserts — or think outside the box. It’s your creation!
This potluck is a great chance to meet other people who are taking on the Veganuary challenge, committing or recommitting to vegan eating, or moving to be more plant-based in the New Year.
Whether you’re a seasoned vegan chef or just figuring out what a vegan meal can even look like, you’re welcome here!
What to Bring:
Not sure what to bring? Whatever you’d like to eat! You can check out these linked recipes and their associated blogs to help you brainstorm:
- Tacos with beans or tofu
- Chili
- Easy pasta salad
- Soups like tomato soup or lentil soup
Whatever you make, please make a note sharing which common allergens (wheat, soy, peanuts, tree nuts) are in your dish so that other who might have allergies can make informed choices on what to eat. And be sure to make enough for around five people. You can bring serving utensils or we can provide them. Plates, utensils and napkins will be provided.
How to Find the Event
To find the potluck, come into the Keg House building and follow the hallway towards the back of the building. The CAA office is on the right-hand side of the hall.
What the Event Will Be Like
A greeter will be available to assist you. Get a name tag, lay out your dish, and grab a plate to try a variety of new foods. When everyone is seated, we’ll ask each of us to introduce ourselves and explain how we made our dish.
While we’re eating, feel free to consult the vegan cookbooks on display for more resources on how to make balanced, delicious plant-based meals. We will also have a list of upcoming events where you can get more information and support. There will also be a couple of games scattered around for participants to enjoy.
