Join us for Open Streets Lyndale/Uptown! We need your help in building a community in South Minneapolis that is informed about factory farming practices and vegan eating. We want to remove the barriers to a plant-based lifestyle. Every little bit counts when raising awareness about the conditions on factory farms.
We’ll be talking to passersby and leafleting for Twin Cities Veg Fest from 11am-5 pm. Pick the four hour slot that you prefer and help make a big impact for animals!
What is Open Streets
During Open Streets, Lyndale Ave. will be open from 22nd Street West to 42nd Street West for folks to play, eat, bike, walk, dance, sing, and more. The event is free and family-friendly. More than a street festival, Open Streets Lyndale/Uptown allows neighbors to experience city streets as public spaces where communities thrive.
Who can volunteer?
All are welcome to volunteer and no experience is required. If you’re passionate about animal rights and/or welfare, or about helping people move towards plant-based eating, this event is for you. We’ll support you in how to do effective outreach.
How can I sign up to volunteer?
Please sign up here and let us know if you’d like to set-up or tear-down our booth!
Support for Volunteers
We’ll reach out to you a few days prior to the event to confirm your participation. At that time we’ll introduce you to the staff leading the event. You’ll get their cell phone number in case anything comes up day-of.
At the event, we’ll make sure you get a chance to know the staff and other volunteers participating in outreach. Then we’ll help you know what to say to attendees.
Will I hear from you after volunteering at the event?
Yes! The staff leading the event will reach out to thank you and tell you about the event’s impact. We want you to know about the difference you made as a result of volunteering with us.
