As part of Twin Cities VegWeek, visit with chickens in Coffman Union at the University of Minnesota! For the safety of chickens and humans (they have a distance to travel), this event has been moved to Monday, April 23.
Melanie Jacobs of Rooster Redemption will join us with two chickens who were originally raised to be eaten. She’ll educate us about chickens’ natural behaviors, how breeding for meat production has affected them, and about how these particular chickens were rescued from the ritual of Kaporos.
We’ll also get to learn about the lives of roosters and her microsanctuary, which is located in Center City, Minnesota.
This is a free event, though donations to support her visit and CAA’s work are welcomed. Please RSVP on the Facebook event page and invite your friends!
