It’s that time of year when we’re not quite sure if there will be snow or sunshine. How do we deal with the cold unknown?
Join other hungry Minnesotans and sample local, homemade vegan chili recipes at our 8th Annual Vegan Chili Cook-Off. We promise that you will leave feeling warmer than when you arrived. Oh, and did we mention that it’s FREE to attend?
Yes, it’s free. Bring friends and spend the evening sampling tasty, homemade vegan chili. Everyone is welcome, whether they’re omnivore, vegetarian, or vegan. The food goes fast, so be sure to arrive right at 7 for best selection. Please RSVP and invite your friends on Facebook. Use #VeganChiliMpls when you share about the the event on social media!
This year, the event will be held on Saturday, February 18 at St. Catherine’s University, fondly known as St. Kate’s. The cook-off will be in the student center (Coeur de Catherine) on the third floor in the Rauenhorst Ballroom. It’s co-sponsored by Advocating for Animals, a St. Kate’s student group. Check out this map for directions.
Think you have what it takes to compete in the cook-off? Bring a batch of your vegan chili and get ready for some competition! Cool prizes are to be won. Check out our registration page for more contestant details and to sign up.
This year, we’ll have two categories: bean-based and meatless meat. This format allows more people to enjoy more chili. The first guests to arrive will get to take their pick of which set to sample and rate!
Thanks to Reverie Cafe + Bar, The Herbivorous Butcher, Florence Wong, City Girl Coffee Company, Vegan East and Vegan Essentials for their generous donations. Please support our sponsors!
