Our Twin Cities compassionate community got a big boost this past weekend with the opening of The Herbivorous Butcher. We hope you’re feeling inspired by the nation’s first vegan butcher shop here in our own backyard. Now is a great time to take action for animals. Here’s how:
Consider getting involved with Bridges of Respect, our humane education program, which provides presentations for middle schools, high schools, after school programs, colleges, and community groups in the Twin Cities metro area. The program could use presenters, social media assistance, photographers, and more. If you’d like to get involved, contact Shannon Kimball at [email protected].
Also, our 7th Annual Vegan Chili Cook-Off is coming up on Sunday, February 28, and we need lots of volunteers to make it a success. Look for details below and contact Unny if you’re interested in helping out.
Best wishes,
Justin Leaf, Communications & Events Coordinator

Special Events for Volunteers
- Campus Meetings
- If you’re a student at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, join us for our weekly campus meetings on Tuesdays at 6:30 pm in Coffman Union room 325 during the Fall 2015 semester. It’s a great opportunity to make social connections and to get involved with volunteering for the group. Please note that we will not be meeting on Tuesday, February 9, since the talk with Dr. Michael Greger is scheduled for that evening.
