Founder of the Middle East Vegan Society, Seb Alex, is coming to the UMN! All are welcome to attend the lecture ‘’Humans & Other Animals – Where Did We Go Wrong?”. The lecture will dive into the moral philosophies that have shaped humans’ interactions with animals throughout history.
Seb Alex is a lecturer, photojournalist, and author whose work revolves around animal rights advocacy. Born and raised in Lebanon, Seb moved to Europe to pursue his career in Sustainable Architecture. After having worked with the UNHCR’s refugee program as well as in the corporate world, he decided to dedicate all his time to Animal Rights Advocacy. Seb has given animal rights advocacy workshops to over 1300+ activists across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Australia and has given lectures on animal ethics at dozens of schools and universities in Europe and North America, reaching more than 6000 students. He is also the founder of the Middle East Vegan Society, a non-profit organization concentrating on the growth of veganism in the Middle East and North Africa using educational and corporate outreach.
This free event takes place in Blegen Hall in Lecture Hall 5. After 4pm, only students are permitted to enter the building (via card swipe). If you are not a student, please keep in mind that after the talk begins, you will not be able to re-enter the building after exiting.
