Minnesota Veg Living magazine is now available! Read it for information and inspiration

April 12, 2023

The new issue of CAA’s annual Veg Living magazine is now available! You may notice a change this year. The magazine formerly known as Twin Cities Veg Living is now Minnesota Veg Living. All thanks to the expansion of CAA into new areas of the state—with chapters in St. Cloud and Duluth!

The magazine continues to offer the same mix of inspiration and information. All designed to help you on your veg journey. A variety of writers share their expertise in areas you told us you were looking for. We heard you want to know how to eat healthy on a plant-based diet. We also understand that some worry this might be difficult given inflation. Check out the magazine to find out how our experts navigate those issues.

You can also find inspiration in the growth of plant-based options—especially in the area of vegan chicken! CAA is growing too. Read about new chapters in St. Cloud and Duluth and the volunteers who have helped make that happen. And, of course, our greatest inspiration is knowing more about the farmed animals whose lives have been saved by vegan diets. In this issue you can read about the wonderful animal sanctuaries in Minnesota. All that in more in the following articles:

  • Vegan Junk Food
  • Eating Plant-Based on a Budget
  • Preserving your Produce
  • Minnesota Farmed Animals Provide Safe Haven for Animals
  • New Duluth and St. Cloud Chapter Expand Community
  • The Vegan “Chicksplosion”

We also included a recipe from our friends at The Herbivorous Butcher: Nan’s Brown Paper Bag Fried Chicken. Try it to experience the Chicksplosion in your own home!

This month donors received the magazine in the mail. Now it’s available to pick up in the community and from our advertisers. Go to Reverie Cafe + Bar and The Herbivorous Butcher, both in Minneapolis, and Farmaste Animal Sanctuary in Lindstrom, MN. We’ll have information on Duluth and St. Cloud pick up spots in the coming weeks. You can also access it electronically with the links below.

Read this issue of Minnesota Veg Living now in Flipbook or PDF.

Much thanks to those who volunteered their expertise and wrote the articles for us: Sanchez Brown, Jill Erickson, Julie Knopp, Suzy Sorensen, Asha Suvarna, and Aubry and Kale Walch and to the Compassionate Action for Animals Board Members who helped edit it: Chris Homsey, Julie Knopp, and Julie Reiter.
