Breanna Knutson is a frequent volunteer with CAA. She was assistant to the chairs for the 2021 Twin Cities Veg Fest, and most recently, she’s been helping us with the logistics of getting more than 2,000 Postcards for Animals out to volunteers and members of the community. Read on to find out more about Breanna’s passion for eating plant-based and what inspired her to get involved with CAA.
How did you discover Compassionate Action for Animals and what made you decide to get involved?
I was following CAA on social media and I had seen them post about a volunteering opportunity for Twin Cities Veg Fest. I had been to Twin Cities Veg Fest in the past and I always loved the event. I thought it would be a great opportunity to get involved and meet more like minded people and do good for animals.
What do you love most about volunteering?
I love meeting all the other fellow volunteers who have similar values as I do. I also like being able to introduce plant based eating to people who may not have tried it before and explain the impact of going vegan for the animals and the environment.
When you are not helping out with CAA stuff, what do you like to do?
Outside of CAA I am a case manager and work with survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, and human trafficking. Besides work I like yoga/working out, photography, spending time with my partner and pets, and spending time outdoors.
What inspires you to eat plant-based and/or take action for animals?
What inspires me to eat plant based is that I feel good about what I am putting on my plate, I don’t feel guilty about what I am eating. Also knowing that how I eat is better for animals and the environment. I also hope to inspire others in my life as they lean more about me eating plant based and seeing how tasty the food can be.
