Have you heard? The fifth annual Twin Cities Veg Fest will be held at Coffman Memorial Union on Saturday, October 29 and Sunday, October 30, 2016. That’s not just one, but two days of compassionate fun!
We’ve just launched a crowdsourcing campaign to help us raise money for the festival, and your support could help us reach our goal. Can you make a contribution of $25, $50, or $100? We welcome donations of any amount to help us reach our goal by August 31. Give today and help make Twin Cities Veg Fest great!
We decided to expand the festival to two days this year when we realized that we’d have to wait to take the festival to an outdoor park. By spreading the event over two days, we’re able to manage the issue of overcrowding while giving both exhibitors and attendees the option to come one or both days. This flexibility means that more people will be able to attend. Of course, twice as many days also means greater expenses for us.
Twin Cities Veg Fest does not charge admission, so while we do receive sponsorship and exhibitor fees, that income does not cover our expenses, which include venue rental, printing for advertising, and purchasing food to give away at the event. To cover these costs, we depend on the generosity of individuals like you.
Making the festival free to attend, we can truly welcome everyone, and that means everyone, from vegans to omnivores. For the vegetarians and vegans, it’s about feeling that vital sense of community that inspires them to continue on the path of compassionate living. For omnivores, it’s an opportunity to learn a few things they didn’t know before, opening their eyes to the many benefits of plant-based diet. In these ways, Twin Cities Veg Fest is an ideal platform for both community building and outreach on behalf of farmed animals. The more people who get to experience the festival, the more effective we are in fulfilling our mission.
